Betty Hanscom has had a journey to create Maine Warmers that started when her husband had a muscle spasm in his back. She sought out a way to forget the electrical outlets and extension cords. After a few trials she came to filling fleece bags with corn for microwaving or for freezing. Her husband was amazed with the relief from the home-made heating pad. Being able to take it anywhere was convenient too! Hanscom then began to make the heating pads in the shape of animals, including polar bears, black bears, panda bears, bunnies, cats, dogs, seals and even sheep! Lisa-Marie's carries the traditional neck or back warmer as well.
