Andy Curran

Andy Curran as born and raised in Southern Maine, and spends much of his time traveling throughout New England. The coast, mountaintops, lakes, and river valleys of the Northeast are his endless source of inspiration. Some of his paintings are created "en plein air" though most of his work is done in the studio. His method involves recall. Often he will sketch a scene but once a painting is under way, he works from memory. He then shifts his mindset to a more poetic perspective, painting from his impression of the location. Curran includes a piece of his own poetry with each of his paintings. Many people think that the places that he paints are places that they have been. This deeper, more personal connection with the viewer is something Curran hopes and strives for when creating a painting. Lisa-Marie’s carries Curran’s cards, boxed sets, gift tags, and journals.
