Andrew M. Cook
Lobstering in Andrew M. Cook’s family goes back many generations and hundreds of years. Born and raised in Maine he’s been enjoying the sweet taste of lobster as far back as he can remember. His uncle has been lobstering for a few years now, many times all by himself. It's a tough job, the bait stink alone makes Lobstermen a unique breed. Up at dawn, all day long, bringing home your pay the old fashioned way, blood, sweat and tears. Lobstering in many ways is an art, you're using your hands, need to know the right spots, and, well... the ocean is their canvas? It may be a stretch but recently Lobstermen have fallen on hard times, so I thought a little art could help them out. In January 2009, he began putting together this project to raise money for the Lobstermen of Maine. From then until now he has been working as hard as he can to get it off the ground, create the art, make it accessible and manage the process, which can be tough with two young kids and a full time job. 10% of proceeds will be donated to local Maine Lobstermen on an annual basis.
Lisa-Marie's carries Cook's cards, matted prints, and framed pieces.
