Okishoff began creating stuffed wild critters about thirty years ago. What began as an enjoyable pastime is now a happy addiction. She crafts all kinds of creatures, from moose and bears to tiny mice. She does not name her creations, so that you can christen your lovable friend what you feel is right.  Three steps complete these squeezable bodies. The 60-inch rolls of fabric are cut down, then sewn together and then stuffed. As an added safety measure she is sure to safety lock the eyes for children under 3 years but she still recommends watching your child with the toy. These beautifully rendered toys can be passed down through the generations. Her oldest daughter (who is now a mother herself) still has Okishoff’s first teddy bear.
