Goose Rocks Designs

Goose Rocks Designs has begun their second decade making glass chimes in a small Maine town firmly committed to providing unique designs in reasonably priced American made handcrafts, and backing these chimes with the customer service and attention to detail that only a small family owned company can provide. Their chimes may be hung outdoors, although they advise placing chimes with wooden frames in a sheltered area. The glass in their chimes is durable under normal weather conditions. Goose Rocks Designs develops and handcrafts glass wind chimes that bring sound and color to life.

The Wood Wizard's Bookmarks

These cherry wood bookmarks are created by Alan Bradstreet, the “Wood Wizard” of Pownal Maine. A frugal Yankee upbringing inspired Alan to create these bookmarks from the recycled waste of larger cabinet makers. The cherry wood is sliced into thin strips and then the profile is cut on a scroll saw with a very fine blade. The pieces are sanded and given an oil finish to accent the grain and rich color of the wood.

Handcrafted By Janet

Janet’s love of arts and crafts goes back to a Maine childhood filled with magical days working alongside her mother, learning how to sew, crochet. Ten years ago, she added painting to her craftsman’s tool kit, that passion became a dream. And now, with the help of her husband and daughters, that dream has become a business. Every object is hand-painted at the kitchen table of their 1918 Cape ,which has made their lives messy, colorful, and interesting. The pieces are baked in their kitchen oven and stored on tables and shelves in small rooms brimming with children and pets. Janet has stuck to one simple rule: “If I don’t love it, I don’t sell it.” We hope you love her products too.

Tunkables

TUNKABLES ® are vintage silverplate tabletop items that Penny Conti finds in antique shops and at auctions, restores to their original luster, and hand-inscribes with whimsical words and phrases appropriate to their use. They have all the grace, charm, and utility of bygone eras, yet are updated by the inscriptions. Typically, she engraves on the blades of the spreaders, the tines of the forks, and the bowls of the spoons rather than on the handles, because this gives them a unique look. Butter spreaders, for example, say 'SPREAD LOVE' or 'SPREAD JOY'. They are a perfect conversation piece that is a bit of art as well as functional.
