It all started with a jar of jam back in 1991. Jonathan King has always had a strong interest in horticulture and cooking. A friend suggested that he sell his goods at the local farmers' market. Being of entrepreneurial spirit he decided to try it out. His partner Jim Stott who was an avid cook, and also worked in a restaurant, like King, joined in. So they acquired a small folding table, a market umbrella and called themselves Stonewall Kitchen, after Stott's suggestion inspired by the historic New England stone walls outside their kitchen window. Every Saturday, at the crack of dawn for the next five years King and Stott headed to the market to sell whatever local produce was fresh and in abundance - vinegars, oils, pesto, jams, and baked goods. They both had an eye for business and a definite passion for cooking and gardening. When those forces came together, embellished with an artistic, creative angle, Stonewall Kitchen was born and their brand emerged. They focus on offering the highest quality tasting and best looking products possible, and the customers keep coming.
